Read about your company in 12/21/2011 TV Technology. I used to work at a former CBS TV Station in Philadelphia back in the eighties, Channel 10 (now NBC) as ENG maintenance supervisor – I did that solder your knees thing more than once. You need to think about a one size fits all at some point –I will buy one. I have a lot of money tied up in PanaVise stuff that is OK but is not really designed for this type of work – The plastic jaws melt and the metal ones heat sink what you are trying to heat up. Looking forward to using these tools and saving melted fingers
I’m old enough that the magnifying glass is probably the most important part.

Thank’s Burt I’m sure many others have experience your plight one time or another. And yes the SolderBuddy was designed to more accurately hold your connectors for attaching or soldering your wires in a compact tool box friendly holding devise. Road tech’s love its versatility too.

I saw the description in the ARRL’s QST monthly magazine and sent off for the ham radio operator’s version of this neat work holder, and have been so pleased I did. I have been soldering PL-259s for 30 years as a ham, and have always struggled to get the connector to sit “hole-side-up” for soldering. The coax is usually in a big coil, and wants to flip the connector the way IT wants to! But with SolderBuddy-Ham the problem has been solved, and the connector stays put right where I want it. I am a very pleased customer. 73 all, Carter, N3AO

I recently got a Moto from your site and it is working out really well for me. I have an older Harley and it needs re wiring and I saw this on your site and bought one. It has worked out well I just zip tie it to the bike and the little clips are great. They held the wires still and it was so easy to solder my wiring before I was always messing up my connections. I wish I had invented this. It is great! Have you had any magazine coverage yet?

The moto was developed when my neighbor asked if I could make a small SolderBuddy for motor cycles. I made the the prototype and let him test it for a couple weeks and then took his changes and made the Moto. and now you have a Moto for yourself. I hope it gives you years of good service. In answer to your question magazine coverage, The Moto is due to be reviewed by American Iron in the coming months. But you already know how well it works. Thank you.

A friend gave me your book and I just love it. I have really learned about soldering from your book. Thank you.
I see you book is impervious to most anything. Somehow I had a AA battery go bad on me and leak onto the cover and I thought Oh No! it is ruined. So knowing it was a plastic type paper I washed it with some soap and to my surprise it came through just fine I lost a little of the printing but the book is in excellent condition. You rock!
Thanks Martty

Thanks for your note Martty The book The artful Solderer is made of Yupo and I knew it was pretty resilient but to hear about a battery is a first.
I hope it brings you many years of rugged use. Tell your friends!

Saw your ad in QST magazine. Went to website to see what you have. Product looks good with lots of variations but photos are so smal I can’t tell if it will actually help do what I do. Will it hold DB 9 and DB25 connectors, what about Anderson Power Pole connectors, DIN connectors, etc etc. Yes, making photos bigger might let someone copy your design but I don’t usually buy a product until I know it will be useful to me. As a ham radio operator I have been soldering for over 57 years. I have my own little crutches to help solder but always looking for new products. 73 and good luck Ron W8RJL

Good question If you hover over the actual product photo on the HAM model on the Ham page, click on the photo and it will get larger. Now in answer to your question about jaw opening. the jaw will accommodate any standard 2 row DB size your DB9 or 25 will easily fit into the jaw opening. BTW the fully extended jaw measures 9/16″ on the flat part of the jaws the standard DB connector is 1/2″ wide at he metal frame and much smaller on the phenolic section so you should have no problem. There is an actual DIN connector hole but as you might know there are 3 manufactures of DIN connectors I made my hole for the leading mfg. in the US but if all else fails and you cannot use this hole with the other off brand connectors you can use the PL259 adjustable square hole in the vise section. One final note the HAM model was designed with the help of the boys at the local Ham radio Outlet.
